New Board of Trustees Members Announced at 30th Annual Meeting

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon (May 30), seven new members of the SJPT's Board of Trustees were announced at our 30th Annual Membership Meeting, held at the San Juan Island Yacht Club in Friday Harbor.
New board members include Carol Avent (Lopez Island), Thor Hanson (San Juan Island), Alice Hurd (San Juan Island), Mindy Kayl (Orcas Island), Judy Meyer (Lopez Island), Steve Simpson (San Juan Island), and Bob Stavers (San Juan Island). Retiring from an impressive show of service to the SJPT were outgoing board members David Ashbaugh, Will Hamilton, Sara Longworth, Jonathan White, Rick Machin, and Cynthia Dilling. Mary Riveland from Orcas Island handed over the reigns to incoming President of the Board Steve McKeon.
Three of the Trust's early founders (Dodie Gann, Bob Mhyr, and Fred Whitridge) regaled the audience with stories from the early days of the SJPT. Attendees also enjoyed a 30th-Anniversary cake, answered San Juan Islands trivia, and a 30-year retrospective slide show.
