Visit SJPT and the Stewardship Network of the San Juans at this fun and festive affair!

The mission of the Sustainable Living Fair is to share information and resources towards creating a more environmentally and economically sustainable San Juan Islands.

From 10:00 until 2:00, we’ll have music, speakers and the presentation of the 2010 “Finnies” (the San Juan Islands Good Steward Awards), all on the Eastsound Village Green stage. Surrounding the stage will be displays and demonstrations by organizations and businesses committed to creating a more environmentally  and economically sustainable San Juan Islands.

All of this is set to coincide with the first Orcas Farmer’s Market of the year, with some early season vegetables, garden starts and a multitude of wonderful local crafts. Lunch will be available from a variety of local vendors, too, so plan to eat at the Green!

On Sunday, May 2, there will be a variety of field trips to see sustainable techniques in action, and just to get out and enjoy beautiful Orcas Island..including a hike up Turtleback Mountain, led by SJPT staff members Kathleen Foley and Dean Dougherty.
